考试概况
全国少儿英语等级考试National Children's English Test(NCET)是面向社会的、开放的、非学历性的英语等级考试，是由国家教育部中国教育学会外语教学专业委员会举办的全国性少年儿童英语水平考试。该考试分为初始一级、初始二级、初始三级。考试的初始级级别标准从级别描述、语言知识和语言运用三个方面定位，由低向高三个模块通过后接触性认知词汇约700个，听说能力可达小学六年级英语水平。该项考试有别于传统意义的考试，它将针对儿童期语言学习的特点，以轻松、活泼、愉快的考试形式激励孩子的学习热情，培养语感，训练其基础语言能力和思维能力，从而增强孩子对英语基本语素的运用，建立英语学习的自信心，打好英语学习的坚实基础。考生可以逐级报考，也可以根据已掌握的英语知识，选择适合自己水平的级别报考。
报考要求
凡4-12岁已经或正在接受英语学习的孩子，均可在各地通过全国考办认证的社会培训机构报名考试。
报名时间
考试每年3次，分别安排在3、7、11月份，具体级别安排请详见考前通知。
考试形式
考试方法：考试分笔试和口试两种独立考试形式进行，以听说为主。
级别标准
1. 级别描述
全国少儿英语等级考试的初始级英语等级考试分为四级：预备级(Pre-starter)、初始一级(Starter I)、初始二级(Starter II)、初始三级(Starter III)。预备级共一次考试，考生只须通过一次考试，即可获得此级别的证书；初始一、二、三级每个级别分三次考试，分别是：初始一级：A1,A2,A3；初始二级：B1、B2、B3；初始三级：C1、C2，C3。考生只有在通过一个级别的三次考试后，才能获得这个级别的证书。
通过以上全部级别考试的考生，其英语水平相当于我国现行小学英语教学大纲中6年级程度英语课程的水平。而且，其运用语言的能力超过了英语教学大纲规定的标准。
准备参加考试的考生，一般在4周岁以上，学英语一年以上者。
2. 语言能力
1)词汇知识
初始级考试各级别应该掌握和认知的词汇分别为：预备级(Pre-starter)150个词、初始一级 (Starter I) 200个词、初始二级(Starter II) 400个词，初始三级(Starter III) 700个词，所考词汇以符合少儿程度的常用词汇为主。

第十一课：
The Pet Show “Here is my dog. I can bark andchase cats.”“Here is my goldfish. I can swim and blow bubbles.”“Here is my monkey. It can climb and eat bananas.”“Here is my frog. It can croakand eat flies.”“Here is my spider. It can crawl and spin webs.”“Third prize is for the goldfish. Second prize is for the dog.”“First prize is for the spider.”
第十二课也是最后一课：
The Goat
The goat went under the fence
and into the garden.
It ate the flowers, and it ate the cabbages. “Shoo!” said Dad.
